At the moment the only topic everybody is
talking about is Corona. But I want to push away the negative vibes and let you
dream a bit. It is better to do a “to-travel bucket list” for after this time
than to complain about the virus and just get a negative mood. This is why I
want to share a few travel spots and my experiences and recommendations with
you!
No.7: Vienna
Activities/sightseeing spots:
The castle “Schönbrunn”
The castle Schönbrunn was once the residence of the emperor Franz and his wife Elizabeth, better known and famous under the name “Sissi”. When you visit the castle you have the opportunity to get a audio guide and get to know about the story of Sissi, which I would recommend to do! By the elements in the castle and the audio with it you can imagine the story very well and even feel a lot of emotions.
The “Prater”
The Prater is a huge amusement park, which is opened 24 hours a day.
The “Hundertwasser” house
In Vienna you can also admire the individually and different architectural style of the famous artist Hundertwasser. His architectural style is special because of his colorful and chaotic style as you can realize when you take a look at his famous house in Vienna.
The Spanish riding school
In old times this was the institution where the imperial family got taught how to write horses. Nowadays you can watch the horses during the trainings or even watch certain performances.
Market “Naschmarkt”
The “Naschmarkt” is the biggest and most known one in Vienna. At the market you can find vegetables, fruits, spices cheese, fish, meat and much more. On Saturdays you can also visit a flea-market with arts, old books or disc records and antiques.
Dome St. Stephans
The Dome St. Stephans is a huge building in the heart of Vienna. You can enter for free and take a look at the mighty building from the inside. You can even visit the catacombs underneath the dome in a guided tour.
My personal opinion/Summary:
I visited Vienna for one week with the school. The city was like a fairytale; the city was so clean, every building mighty and decorated. When you take a look at my list of activities and I tell you now that this are just some activities you can imagine how much is to do and see in Vienna. You will definitely not get bored n Austria’s capital city! I can just recommend a trip to Vienna.
